Simple Pleasures Bakery started out as just a dream a few years back. It is owned by Shakeerah Tompkins Wonnum and Larone Wonnum. Shakeerah has been baking since she was a young girl and it has always been a sort of "release" for her, to the point where her family jokes "that you can always tell when she is stressed because cookies and pies and cakes start to appear everywhere"! Over the years, Shakeerah has managed to collect various cookbooks and tried thousands of recipes, but never thought that her dream of owning a bakery would ever become a reality. But around Thanksgiving 2006, Larone approached her with an idea: to make pies and cakes to sell to his co-workers. To make a long story short, the holiday sales were a success and soon after other orders started coming in and Simple Pleasures Bakery was born!

The idea for Simple Pleasures Bake Shoppe is a mix of the patisseries that can be found all over Europe and the small corner bakeries that are very popular in the northern part of the United States. Our goal is to be one-stop shop for all things sweet!

All orders are made from family recipes, with love, by hand and are made to order.
